Socket Plugs
The most frequently requested Pittsburgh Plug product is the standard steel type plug, pictured here. The hexagonal or square socket provides positive wrenching for higher torques. Less raw material is utilized which means less cost to the user. Safety hazards created by head protrusions are eliminated. Carefully controlled taper and fully formed threads, to standard or dryseal specifications, assure leak-proof insertions.

Manufactured to conventional gauging practices, these plugs will normally protrude three or four turns above the top of standard tapped holes when fully tightened.
